Volunteers at the
Fall Book Fair
Without volunteers like these, events such
as the book fair wouldn't be possible.
Taking an hour or two of your time whenever
possible is a very rewarding experience. Your involvement
helps the children, the teachers, and the school. |
|
Whether you can give numorous hours each
week or only a couple hours every other month, the school
needs your help. Many programs count on volunteers to keep
them going. Teachers also rely on the help of volunteers
to help out in many ways.
Here are a few examples of how you can help
out at your child's school:
- Read stories
- Listen
to children read
- Assist on field trip days
- Tutor math and reading
- Work in the clinic or
library

- Correct student
worksheets
- Assist in the cafeteria
- Help children select library
books
- Help older children
with research
|
- Practice vocabulary with non-English-speaking
children
|
We want you to get involved
in Education and help make our schools great. The
school system has identified community involvement
as one of the key areas within the school system's
strategic plan. Most schools believe that community
involvement is vital to student achievement.
Whether you are a student
seeking community service opportunities,
a parent or grandparent seeking to become
more involved in the education of your children
or grandchildren, a retired or senior citizen
seeking an outlet for your talents, experiences,
and skills, or a corporation wishing to give
your employees greater opportunity to be
